Rethinking the corner office
Lindquist and Vennum Law Firm downsized from their original offices which they had occupied since opening 43 years ago. 120,000 square feet of space in the IDS Center to 81,000 square feet within the same building. They moved from floors 40 through 43 to part of floors 18 through 21.
This project consisted of moving their entire staff which consisted of 142 attorneys and 158 additional staff members disconnecting and reconnecting of all of their personal computers and monitors. Removal and disposition of four floors of furniture (120,000 sq. ft.) This project needed to be completed in 3 days and needed to be done after hours.
Challenges in this project were the size of the elevators and limited access to the elevators. Large amounts of paper files and records that needed to moved securely and disposed of securely. The project was completed in 2 days. Extensive pre-planning, coordination and frequent communication helped contribute to the project’s success and finished one day earlier than expected.
